I'm from Southern California, and graduated from Thomas Aquinas College in 2020 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts.
I'm interested in how philosophy of science can employ resources from the history of philosophy, particularly with regard to the interplay between science, art, and nature. In my own research I study representation, idealization, and metaphor as they occur both in art and in science, with an eye to better understanding how scientific theories and models help us learn about the natural world. My dissertation is (tentatively) titled "Embodying Nature: A Non-Literalist View of Scientific Representation."
My non-philosophical interests include exploring the Midwestern outdoors, gardening, baking, and music of many different kinds. Performing in musicals and singing liturgical music are among my very favorite things to do.
My cat, Annie, patiently puts up with me singing around the house at all hours of the day.
